Prague: Day 7

This week has warn me out!  We got kind of a late start this morning.  After grabbing some breakfast and getting ready for the day, we headed to the metro and made our way to the Petrin Tower.  We first walked by and into the Church of the Prague Child with a wax figure of baby Jesus who has over 100 outfits that he is changed into often.  This wax figure was kind of a disappointment to me because he was pretty small. It was much smaller then a real baby.  But his outfits were pretty fancy.  We then walked around the back of the church to the hill that had the Petrin Tower at the top.  We started walking up the path to it, but got about half way when we figured there had to be a faster and better way to get to the top.  So instead of going to the top we sat down on a bench and looked out at the beautiful view of the city.  After a while we headed back down the hill and to the good mexican restaurant that we made reservations for an early dinner.  It is a place called Cantina and the food was AMAZING!!  I ordered chicken fajitas and they were so good.  I am going to miss mexican food when I get back to Ukraine.  They need to get some mexican restaurants there.  After stuffing ourselves, we found the tram that takes us to the top of the hill with the Petrin Tower.  This tower was built in 1891 as a copy of the Eiffel Tower in Paris.  It is defiantly not the real Eiffel Tower, but it was fun to climb the 299 steps to the top and look at the gorgeous view of the city at night.  It was all lit up and everything could be seen.  We stayed at the top for a while in amazement.  Then we headed back down, road the tram back down the hill, and headed to the St. Charles Bridge.  We walked across that too and saw another view of the city at night.  Prague looks so different at night, it is so beautiful.  We then found some gelatto to satisfy our sweet tooth.  To end a great week in Prague, we went to a performance of Swan Lake at the Hybernia theater.  We sat in the third row with no one in front of us so we could see everything.  It was a very low budget production, but it was still so much fun.  The leads were very good though.  We headed back to the hotel and are now packing.  We have an early start to get back to Kiev.  I am sad to leave this beautiful city.  It was a very memorable vacation.  I am so glad I came with Sarah, Katie, and Elysia.  They are the sweetest and most fun girls.  We had some very good times (:
